Byodoin Temple is the world heritage located in Uji, Kyoto. In 1052 (Eisho 7), its era’s Kanpaku*, Fujiwara no Yorimichi took over his father, Michinaga’s villa and rebuilt it as a temple.
As the starting of its construction for two years from 2015, we helped their visual directions in renewing all of their communication platforms, official website with multiple languages, and universal design. In order to make the place more accessible to all ages of visitors, Byodoin has launched a cafe “Byodoin Sabou Touka” in the suite. In the spring of 2017, Starbucks Kyoto Uji Byodoin Omotesando opened and the city’s revitalization has been in success.
